Cutting-Edge Features: Beyond basic ham radio functions, this radio is packed with advanced features: it’s the first to support phone programming from TIDRADIO, offers firmware updates, a version switch, wireless programming, repeater connectivity, DTMF functionality, MIC gain, dual-band, dual watch, NOAA Weather Channel, Display Sync, 199 channels, and a 1.77-inch LCD color screen, among others.

Phone Programming: Say goodbye to complicated software, cables, and drivers. With the ODmaster App, you can easily perform tasks such as frequency editing, searching and importing nearby repeaters, saving, caching, and sharing radio configurations, and even socializing with other radio users. Programming can be done without cellular data if you save the configuration in advance. There are three programming options for the TD-H8: 1) Odmaster (App and Website), 2) CHIRP, 3) CPS programming software.

Updatable Firmware: The TD-H8 stands out because it can be updated using TIDRADIO software, allowing for new features to be added through these updates. Each upgrade essentially gives you a new radio, eliminating the need to buy another one! If you have suggestions for new functions, please let us know and we will try to incorporate them.

One-Click Repeater Import: No more struggling with programming or importing files into your radio using software. With the Odmaster APP, you can easily search and find local repeaters by entering your postal code.

Seems I got a used set of 2nd gen at least the inside packaging seemed old was broken in several areas not from shipping since the external box was good to go.

I am enjoying this radio very much. The only problems are that I cannot program it. Chirp doesn’t work on it and neither for the ODmaster even though it recognizes it. I can’t turn on or receive am. I would like to get aviation transmissions. But it’s my take along every radio. I have bought 2 antennas for it. One collapsible and one for my car to go mobile. I am enjoying but would like to enjoy it even more.

H8 Gen 2 great radio

I've been using the H8 Gen 2 for about a year and it has become my primary HT. For me it out preforms my Boafeng UV-5RE, TYT UV88, TYT MD-2017(in analog mode) and Wouxun UV-66 in receive (in my mind the most important part as it doesn't matter if they can hear you if you can't hear them.) I can get into a repeater that is over 50 miles away on the side of a mountain reliably. It has the features I use most and it is easy for me to access those features with simple button push and not having to wade through menus to get to them. I also find it easy to program with chirp or with the keypad. I would highly recommend the H8 to anyone looking for an affordable FM analog HT. I would also recommend purchasing the Tidradio 771 antenna to go with it as it is the best antenna I have tested with Any of my radios (beats the Nagoya 771 into a repeater 15 miles away by 3dB!)

this is my 2nd H8 i got one of the first firmware version 2 and never have had any issues, tx 9.5 to 11 watts I got the second one in green for use with ny verts and races work tested. same as the first one 9 watts to 11 watts above spec and both have clean tx on my sa
