Great Radio For the Price

This radio is pretty great for the price. Big battery, Has really nice receive audio and sounds good on transmit as well. There are a few things I’d like to see changed, which I’ve suggested to TidRadio directly:
* More voice prompts: at least have the menus speak when you access them. As it stands, the prompts are mosty useless. Adding this would bring eyes-free accessibility in line with other similarly priced offerings.
* Make it better by adding a hot key to have a spoken readout of operating frequency, CTCSS tone, etc.
* Make all menu settings able to be directly set via the keypad, i.e. not just scrolling through with arrows. For example, 0 for no offset, 1 for plus, 2 for minus. 0 for no squelch, 1-9 for squelch levels. 0 for low power, 1 for high, or the opposite. You get the idea. Implement for all menus.
* Different beeps to denote toggle states: say, a double beep to denote where menus wrap. Single tone for most things, double beep for default settings, or to denote the on state of a toggle. Or use different pitched tones. Point is, an audible indication of state of different settings.
* Ability to send DTMF tones on the fly, while transmitting. That is to say, pressing number keys or *#ABCD while the transmitter is keyed would send those individual DTMF tones. I like the DTMF mode, but I’d like the option of using as a standard DTMF keypad while trahsmitting.

I’ll also note that the bluetooth programming software for the iPhone works prettty well with VoiceOver. And having the ability to use chirp and carry programming over from another radio was very helpful.

Everything just worked! After watching the You Tube reviews I figured the radio has features I like, So I gave them a try. Being in a public transit system our biz radios are channelized, I was able to use the frequency finder, Just key the biz radio up and instantly frequency and pl tone appeared on the Tidradio. Save to mem channel...done. USB C charging was a great idea and it works! This radio is very useful to me. I'm satisfied. Oh and the programming with blue tooth from the app on android fantastic.
